Emanuela Bianchi is assistant professor of comparative literature at New York University.  She is currently completing a manuscript on sex and gender in Aristotle's natural philosophy entitled The feminine symptom: aleatory matter in the Aristotelian cosmos, and also working on a book on kinship in classical antiquity and the present day.

The crossroads—the place of fate, encounter, event, decision, and opportunity—is an apt figure for this important new volume on the work of Luce Irigaray.
